百余年来，中国油画承载了西方古典绘画的传统，并接受了东方文明的洗礼，成就了具有中国特色的东方油画。在这漫长的进化之中，每个阶段都会出现一些领军人物，他们激扬画笔，挥斥遒逸，建树一方，成就了艺术的伟业，为后人所景仰。
在中国当代写实油画领域，这些艺术家的成就是令人瞩目的：罗中立不拘传统，锐意创新，其画作令人耳目一新；郭润文立意独到，浓笔重彩，是一种学院经典的范例；注重对诗境的营造和时空的交错感，使何多苓的作品充满诗般的抒情；冷军的超写实造像，其内涵引人入胜；李宗津是早期油画画坛重量级代表性人物，其作品记载了时代的风貌；毛以岗善于捕捉光与影，瞬间定格了对青春的赞美……艺术家各具个性的创造，为中国当代油画史增光添彩，他们被人们称为大师可谓实至名归。

Zhongli Luo, Zongjin Li, Jun Leng, Runwen Guo, Duoling He, Yigang Mao, When these Chinese contemporary painting sparkling artists' works appear in front of you, you couldn't help admiring: this is what the masters’ attainments are.
Over the past 100 years, embodied in the tradition of the western classical painting, and through the ablution of the oriental civilization, Chinese oil painting became oriental paintings with Chinese characteristics. During this long evolution, some leaders appeared at each stage. They soared brushes, making great achievements for the art, which is or will be admired by later generations.
These artists’ achievements are remarkable in the areas of Chinese contemporary realism oil painting. Zhongli Luo prefers innovation, and his paintings are truly refreshing to watch. Runwen Guo’s original viewpoints, hard brush, deep color ,is an example of academism; Duoling He pays attention to setting up his own artistic style and time and space crisscross, which makes his works poetic creating the right imagery; Jun Leng’s paintings are super realistic and fascinating; Zongjin Li is a typical representative character in early oil paintings world, and his works promote the features at that time; Yigang Mao is good at catching light and shadow, shortly capturing the admiration of youth. These artists are distinctive, and they add glory and splendor to Chinese contemporary oil painting history. So it is well-deserved that they are known as masters.
