James, Chu Cheok Son
Chu Cheok Son was born in Macau. He learned engravings in the 1990s successively from James Wong Shenbao and from Sou Pui Kun at Macau Visual Art Academy. At the beginning of 1998 he graduated from the Department of Graphic Communication, with a Bachelor Degree at School of Arts of Macau Polytechnic Institute. In 2008, he completed a Master Degree on Cultural Studies at the Lingnan University in Hong Kong. Personally, he loves ardently various artistic expressions. One of the founders of Art For All (AFA) Society, St. Paul’s Fine Art, The Macau Old Ladies1 House Art Space and Macau Creative Co. Ltd. From 2002 until 2004, he had been working as the post of Head of Cultural Installation Division of Cultural and Recreational Services of Macau Civic and Municipal Affair Bureau, Macau S.A.R. mainly responsible for the Museums and Libraries management and development. From 2005 to January of 2008 had been working at Macau Museum of Art as a curator and person-in-charge for the art education and promotion section. He is now a full time artist and designer in Macau, also working as an exhibition curator and art consultant. He is also the Director of General assemble of Art For All Society, Director of AFA Beijing. The President of General Council of Macau Civil Power, The President of General Council of Macau Library & Information Management Association and vice-president of Macau Designer Association, Member of Committee of Cultural Industries, Government of Macau S.A.R. Works had been collected by Fundação Oriente Macau, Macau Museum of Art, One Central – Service Apartment Macau, Hong Kong Hyatt hotel and other private collectors.

Winner of the Emblem Design Competition for Macau Lawyer Association.

Silver medal of student category at the 2nd Macau Design Biennial.
