Preface
What would be your object? How would you express it? Every painter has his preference in objects and unique way of expression, which form his own painting characteristics.
The selection of still life as my main subject matter was based on the memories those I strive to keep; I want to show the joy of harvest and the simple rural rapport.
Once, saxophone’s metallic feeling and beautiful line striked me. I felt that I can hear it playing music just for me, communicating with resonance in my heart, which greatly aroused my passion for creation. Just like the famous Chinese poet Tao Yuanming’s once said “There is sound in every silence and emotion in every stillness.” And I kept drawing and drawing, the result is the collection of series works of The Harvest and western musical instruments.
Though my painting style was influenced by Scandinavian Realism, I have been making every effort to show the charm of Chinese culture while utilize Western Realistic techniques and revealing my constant personality. My paintings focus not only on the display of skills, but, more importantly, the emphasizing the sense and sensibility’s interaction, interdependence and mutualism. At the same time the application, expression and the culture of colours are paid special attention to.
For the most time of my life, I indulge myself in painting. On the way of art creation, I have experienced the hardships of pursuing and the joy of success. I will dedicate more to the sincere and simple texture, unit of form and spirit without being restricted to it. I will continually strive to explore new painting expressions to show the floating tranquility in the easeful air.
