很多人都问我：为什么要开个以版画为主的画廊？你不怕有风险吗？你知道钟情于原创的收藏家都不会买版画的吗？对这些提问，我通常都只淡淡一笑，随口一说：无所谓，我喜欢这样。之前，我是个纯粹的商人，同时也是个艺术品收藏家。

丝网版画是国外的泊来品，且早已在国外普及。因为对于一个一线著名画家来说，他们的作品动辄上百甚至上千万，收藏家虽喜欢，但想拥有就有一定的难度。那么由画家亲自授权且亲自签名的同画版画就极具欢迎且有收藏价值：第一，它是限量的；第二：它也是画家的第二次创作；第三：最重要是由画家亲自签名的。

我们的吴冠中老师为让国人真正认识到丝网版画的价值，开创了先河，大量的大师作品以丝网版画形式问世。虽一开始受到艺术家，批评家的非议，但逐渐都得到了一致的认同。且各一线画家都有自己的代表作以版画形式推出。且名家的版画在各大著名拍卖行都很有市场极受欢迎。

这次我们翎，当代画廊第一次力推九位年轻艺术家版画，也旨在让大家更多地了解和收藏这些艺术家的优秀原作版画作品。

Starting from here——group exhibition of nine young artists’ engraving works

Exhibition preface

Many people have asked me: why did you decide to open a gallery of engravings as the main business? Won’t you afraid of running the risk? You know those collectors who love the original paintings won’t be interested in the engravings? To these questions, I usually just smile and say I don’t care, it’s just my interest. I used to be a simple businessman as well as an art collector.

Screen print is imported from abroad and has spread widely in foreign countries. For first level famous painters, their works usually cost thousands of dollars. Although collectors love to own them, it is hard for them to get the works. So works signed by the artists themselves are of higher popularity and collecting value: first, it is limited; second, it is the second creation of the painter, last but not the least is that it is signed by the artist.

Famous Chinese artist Wu Guanzhong had realized the value of screen print, and created the first. After that, a large number of master works came out in the form of screen print. Although criticized by critics and artists at first, the engravings finally got accepted. And the famous artists all have their representative to print form. And the engravings of famous artists are popular in the famous auction market.

We hold an exhibition of nine young contemporary artists’ engravings, in order to let people learn more and collect the artists' excellent original works of engraving.
