站台中国的驻留艺术家，Heidi Schwegler，

As an artist in residence at BIAP, Heidi Schwegler presents ‘Floating Gravel’: a suite of objects, photos and video that illustrate an attempt to cut through the physical haze of the high pollution/humidity in Beijing and the perceptual blindness that so often comes with being a foreigner.

Heidi Schwegler于俄勒冈大学获得艺术硕士学位，现任俄勒冈艺术工艺学院副教授。Heidi Schwegler通过大范围地探索各种材料，运用松脂，金属，木材，蜡，数码影像等进行创作，响应她始终关注的关于压抑的主题。ArtNews, Metalsmith和American Craft都曾发表过有关她的作品评论。

Heidi Schwegler explores a wide range of materials in the service of very depressing subject matter. Schwegler constructs artifacts and objects from resin, metal, wood, wax, found objects and digital media. She has participated in numerous group shows, including exhibitions at the Tacoma Art Museum (Washington State), Scope Art 2004 (New York) and forthcoming exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Craft, (Oregon), and the Hallie Ford Museum (Oregon). Schwegler is a recent recipient of a RACC Individual Project Grant for the performance and installation ‘Utopia Sighs’ (Portland, Oregon). She has lectured on her work and contemporary art and design at institutions such as Kendall College of Art and Design (Michigan), University of Washington and Kent State University (Ohio). Reviews of Schwegler’s work have been published in ArtNews, Metalsmith, and American Craft. She earned her MFA from the University of Oregon and is presently Associate Professor of Metals at the Oregon College of Art and Craft.
