丁武，六十年代虎年出生于北京。

自幼随父母下放黑龙江温春“五•七干校”。6年与大自然亲密接触的干校生活，造就其洒脱、坚毅的个性。作为空军的后代，丁武对天空、梦境及飞行有一种超于常人的想往。72年回京，因其对绘画显现出的特殊爱好，中学时期开始进入西城区少年宫接受正规的美术基础教育。

丁武于1983年毕业于北京市工艺美术学校美术系(现北京工业大学艺术设计学院)，在校时期接触到早期西方摇滚乐。1984年在北京132中学担任专业美术老师，一年后辞职，投身动荡的摇滚乐生涯。作为中国第一代摇滚音乐人，中国重金属摇滚乐的先行者和开创者，丁武组建过多支摇滚乐队，并在1988年创建唐朝乐队至今。期间历经磨难，出版了在中国摇滚史上具有里程碑意义的专辑，如《梦回唐朝》、《演义》、《浪漫骑士》。

跌宕的人生没有消磨他对艺术的热爱和追求，他不间断地画画，大多以自我形象为蓝本，真实地用画笔记录自己亲身经历的故事，文化大革命、上山下乡、改革开放等历史变迁都能通过他的画笔传递出中国时代的信息和不同时代的记忆符号。

他只想做一个记录者，你可以从他的音乐中看到真实的画面，你也可以从他的画面中听到流动的音符。

他就是一个记录者，他可以用他独特的天赋，向世人展示一个普通人不普通的大千世界……

--The First Solo Exhibition Of Ding Wu

Ding Wu,born in 60's Beijing.

From his chilhood he moved to Heilongjiang Wenchun"5.7 Cadre School"with parent.In 6 years for he has immersed with a natural way during this period,it brought up his big-hearted and gritty personality.As descendants of Air Force,Ding Wu has extraordinary yearning to the sky,dream and flying.In 1972 he came back to Beijing,because of his special interest reveals in painting,during the middle school he started into Xicheng Children's Palace to received formal basis of Fine Arts elementary education.

Ding Wu has graduated from Department of Fine Arts in Beijing Arts and Crafts School in 1983,this time he started to listen to rock 'n' roll music from early west.In 1984 he became professional art teacher in 132 Secondary School,resigned after one year,threw himself into turbulent rock 'n' roll career. As the very first generation of Chinese rocker,the pioneer and creator of Chinnese Heavy Metals,Ding Wu established many rock bands,also in 1988 established the band Tang Dynasty till now.At that time it experienced tribulation,and published the album which is milestone in the history of Chinese rock,such as<<A Dream Return To Tang Dynasty>>,<<Historical Romance>>,<<Knight of Romantic>>.

Ups in life hasn't wore down his pursuit and infatuation to art,he constantly to made drawing,mostly its original version has modeled on his self-image,his brush truly recorded his personal experience,Culture Revolution,Up To Mountain Areas and Down To Countryside,Reform and Opening Up such historical change all conveyed information of an age and different memorial symbol passed through his brush. 

He just want to be a recorder,you can see true image from his music,you can also heard flowing notes from his picture.

He is just a recorder,he can use his unique talent,to show world an ordinary people's unordinary worlds......
