“鸟儿问答——广慈作品展”将于2010年12月18日在偏锋新艺术空间内展出。

本次展览共展出16件作品，是瞿广慈2009年年初来京二年的创作和心态记录，同样反映出艺术家本人在当下生存中面对的新问题：自身生态的交互关系成为人近中年的艺术家所面对和要解决的当下问题。艺术创作也由探究具体问题转换到关照具体的人自身以及人与自然的关系。中国古代画论中素有对“清水出芙蓉，天然去雕饰”状态的推崇，瞿广慈新作《鸟儿问答》、《寒雀图》等正是对这种自身状态关系的视觉呈现。

作为中国雕塑界的中坚力量，瞿广慈从早期“革命浪漫主义”、“集体主义”到现在回归到人本身的“自然主义”，以自己的感悟化解一直以来中国对西方艺术的形式追逐，这种化解并不企图以自己的转化和现实的视觉符号做简单比照。“去政治化”的做法，并不代表政治性因素变弱，相反，政治性因素只是变得不再那么直接，而是渗透到日常生活中。艺术家在这个过程中，希望结合自身的生存境遇将政治性因素慢慢消解掉。

瞿广慈1969年生于上海，1997年毕业于中央美术学院雕塑系研究所，现工作生活于北京。

“Twittering----Guangci’ Works” will be exhibited on December 18, 2010 at PIFO New Art Gallery.
This 16 works represents Qu Guangci’s creative process and mental state in last two years, and also reflect the new issues that he is facing. As a middle-aged artist’s issues that he needs to face and solve. Art creation also keeps an eye on the relationship between nature and human beings. As the highly praised Chinese poem says “Natural Beauty of Lotus Rises out of Water”, coincidentally, Qu Guangci’s new works “Twittering”, “The Sparrows in Winter” and some others also gives you the same feeling.

As a well-known Chinese Sculptor, Guangci’s art evoluted from the early “revolutionary romanticism”, “collectivism” until the latest “naturalism” of human beings. He has being approaching western art through his own perception. In this process, he doesn’t try to make connections. It may look like “he is leaving his political behind”, but in fact his intention is to give them in a direct and not so obvious way.
Qu Guangci was born in 1969 in Shanghai. He got his master degree from the Sculpture of Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1997. He currently lives and works in Beijing.
