本次展览中挑选的作品兼具了艺术的美和生活中的实用性，杯、碗、碟这些常见的日用器皿在艺术中展示了精湛的工艺以及精美的细节。陶瓷花瓣小心叠成的瓷碗、手工绘成的蝴蝶和枝叶、亮丽的中国红漆器，这些作品在展示艺术之美的同时也让我们停下脚步，思索、欣赏生活中的美。

Foundation: Functional

Art surrounds us in our daily lives: the curve of a teacup, the lines that fall from window drapes, splashes of colors and patterns that run in the fabric we wear. We often grow oblivious to the beauty that surrounds us as we go about our day’s business, missing what is right before our eyes.

The pieces selected for this group show are beautiful as well as functional. Taking on the recognizable forms of daily objects – bowls, cups, plates – these works of art demonstrate great technique and possess eye-catching details. The careful folds of ceramic flower petals, hand-painted butterflies and leaves, vibrant red of lacquer – all these expressions of beauty cause us to pause in our routine and take a moment to contemplate and appreciate.
