2011年9月16日—10月9日，九十九度艺术中心将推出“归真”——陈显栋油画上海/台北同步个展。

艺术，源于内心隐密的感应。如何在扎实基础下，真切地呈现心灵对应的感动，是油画艺术家陈显栋渴切达成之目标。

年过八旬的陈显栋经过多年沉淀洗炼，将心灵感受带回到朴实无华的状态，赤子之心表露无疑，让观赏者沉浸在物我两忘的境界。我们能在他的画中，发现谦和与真诚，而他也真正创造出观者心灵与大自然涌动的相互融会，开创出属于他这年代的颜色与轮廓。

Return to Innocence : Chen Hsientung's Taipei-Shanghai Solo Show:

“Return to Innocence: Chen Hsientung’s Solo Exhibition” will be hold in 99 Degrees Art Center of Shanghai / Taipei synchronously, from September 16 to October 9.

Art arises from the private reactions of our inner selves. The goal of artist Chen Hsientung, as he works through the oil medium, is to find a way, based on his solid foundation of painting technique, to vividly and concretely present the responses and feelings of the spirit.

Chen Hsientung, now in his eighth decade, makes full use of the artistic judgment and technique refined over those many years. His emotional responses are embodied in simple, natural forms that reveal an uninhibited innocence and invite viewers to lose themselves in the world of his paintings. In Chen's work we find a kind of genuineness and approachability that truly brings viewers together with the surging energies of nature, in paintings whose colors and outlines reflect the artist's own years.
