Wang Xiaosong: I am Wang Xiaosong working in Planning Department of Hexiangning Art Museum; I will assist you to make this exhibition together. I’d appreciate your kind consideration.

单凯悌：我叫单凯悌，今年刚从台北艺术大学毕业，我的作品大部分是由自己的身体出发做的video。谢谢大家！
Shan Kaiti: My name is Shan Kaiti, fresh graduate from Taipei National University of the Arts. Most of my works is video based on my own body. Thank you!

冯博一：应该是这次参展最年轻的艺术家。
Feng Boyi: I suppose he is the youngest artist for this exhibition.

邬建安：我是北京的邬建安，在中央美术学院教书，对传统怎样在当代获得话语权比较感兴趣，创作也是围绕这个部分。
Wu Jian’an: I am Wu Jian’an from Beijing, teaching in Central Academy of Fine Arts. I am interested in how does the tradition acquire the right to speak in contemporary society and my creations revolve around it.

黄卓轩：我是来自香港的黄卓轩，做跨媒介创作，以前在伦敦做建筑设计，所以我的作品和时间、空间、个人以及公共身份有关。
Huang Zhuoxuan: I am Huang Zhuoxuan from Hongkong, engaging in cross-media creation. Since I was an architecture designer in London before, my works are closely related to time, space, individual and public identity.

徐寿懿：大家好！我们是来自香港的三语设计。我是Chris Tsui Sau Yi，徐壽懿。Adonian Chan Freeman，陳濬人。
Chris Tsui Sau Yi: Hello everyone! We are Trilingua, a design duo from Hongkong, I am Chris Tsui Sau Yi, and he is Adonian Chan Freeman.

冯博一：我解释一下。参展艺术家是一部分，为展览所有的平面设计也找了两个设计师，他们是代表香港的设计师是一个组合，大陆的是刘治治，设计这块儿也是一个1+1的概念。包括我们策展人之间的相互沟通，也是从不同地域而来的交流。
Feng Boyi: I would like to make an explanation here. Besides artists, I invited two designers for all graphic design. This design duo comes from Hongkong while Liu Zhizhi represents mainland. The design work is also based on the conception of 1+1, so does the communication between curators who are from different regions.

陈志建：大家好！我叫陈志建，来自台湾，我的作品主要是录像装置。
Chen Zhijian: Hello everyone! My name is Chen Zhijian from Taiwan. My works are mainly video installations.

Joao O Bruno Soares：I’m an architect by profession, and I’m an artist by passion. I do installation art. I usually address self-identity, the post-colonialism. I represented Macau in Venice Biennale in 2009.

（苏约翰：我是来自澳门的艺术家苏约翰，我是学建筑专业的，但是我自己非常喜欢艺术，创作装置艺术，同时很关注自己的身份，代表澳门参加了2009年的威尼斯双年展。）

冯博一：约翰是澳门籍葡萄牙人，他懂葡语、英语、粤语，普通话说得不太好。
Feng Boyi: Joao is Portuguese Macanese. He speaks Portuguese, English and Cantonese, but not Mandarin.

百强：大家好！我是来自澳门的叫百强，大学的时候是学平面设计的，今年我也去了大陆很多地方画画，待会儿可以看看。
Bai Qiang: Hello everyone! I am Bai Qiang from Macau, majored in g graphic design when I studied in university. I have been to many places in mainland this year for painting, later I will show you.

赵赵：我是来自北京的赵赵，生在新疆。大学是学油画的，去了北京以后就拍照片和做影片，现在也没有什么切入点，就是“乱作”。
Zhao Zhao: I am Zhao Zhao from Beijing, born in Xinjiang. When I was in university, I studied oil painting then switched to photography and filming after I went to Beijing. Currently I don’t engage in any specific area.

梁远苇：我叫梁远苇，我也是来自北京，也做设计。
Liang Yuanwei: My name is Liang Yuanwei, also from Beijing and a designer.

冯博一：后面一排都是来自各地的媒体。刚才的翻译是何香凝美术馆策划部的Maggie，中文名字叫苟娴煦，这次她主要是负责在大陆的宣传。策划部还有杨克宁、姜前维一起来做这个展览。
Feing Boyi: the row behind is seated by press friends from different regions. The interpretation was made by Maggie, working at Planning Department of Hexiangning Art Museum; her Chinese name is Gou Xianxu and she is mainly responsible for the publicity of this exhibition in mainland. Her colleagues, Yang Kening and Jiang Qianwen, also work on this project.

前期已经给大家提供了相对详细的展览方案，这是我们几个策展人在前期商量之后的共识，我再稍微解释一下。第一，为什么做两岸四地的交流？这个展览我们已经做了两届，就是考虑到深圳何香凝美术馆和香港、澳门、台湾在地理上比较近。这些年“交流”展也特别多，我想在坐的艺术家、策展人都参与过，基本上是把不同国家、地区的艺术家的作品集中起来展出，包括各种双年展、三年展，这种模式挺好，但是不是有点太多了？所以我们希望能够在一个交流的概念和前提之下，稍微深入一点，展览的问题更有针对性，也不一定要花很多钱、做多大的规模。由于历史原因造成了这四个地方不同的地域文化，在这样的情况下我们进行交流。关于交流的概念，大概有三种形态：一种是交流之后大家有很多的共识；还有一种是交流之后反而会产生更多的分歧，或者说在交流的过程中会引起很大的冲突；第三种形态就是互相做妥协，在妥协的基础之上产生一个成果。我们希望这次展览能够通过这样的一种配对、速配的方式，把这三种情况都通过一种具体的方式来展示。所以绝不意味着通过1+1的交流方式，可以两个人的智慧、创作特质得到比较和谐的结合，也有可能交流不下去，交流不下去可以终止，把不可交流性的真实形态体现出来。我认为这是自然形成的，就像两个人谈恋爱一样，配对、合作、交流都是自然发生的。展览将先后在深圳何香凝美术馆、香港艺术中心和台北艺术大学关渡美术馆展出，但展览只是其中的一部分，包括提前半年请大家来做一个聚会、讨论，互相做一个介绍，目的是想把交流的过程作为展览的一部分，以什么方式呈现在展览中，我觉得这个展览就和以往的展览方式有所不同。或者我认为要给观众或者其他看展览的人一些信息，这是做这个项目最基本的，这些和展览同样重要。
Earlier we already provided a detailed proposal for the exhibition, which represents consensus among we curators. Here, I would like to make further explanation. First of all, I will say something about the reason to hold such an exchange among artists from mainland, Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan. We have done two exhibitions for this project in the last two years since we considered that Hexiangning Art Museum, close to the other three areas geographically, holds many exchange exhibitions in recent year. I suppose that artists and curators present here must have participated this kind of exhibitions before, which brings creations of artists from different countries and regions together; it includes various Biennial and Triennial and constitutes a good way to present, however, I believe there has been too many of it. Therefore, we hope we can go deeper by holding more specific exhibition under an exchange conception and precondition without necessarily spending large amount of money, but in large scale. Historic factors resulted in different cultures in these four regions, so we need exchange. As for the conception of exchange, it can be categorized into three kinds: first lots of agreement reached after exchange; second larger dispute emerged or big conflict aroused during the process; third different parts compromise with each other so as to produce an outcome. We hope that this exhibition can present all the three cases through matching, so the wisdom and features of creation of two people can be combined in a harmonious way. Of course, there is possibility that the communication may fail so the interaction would terminate; in this situation, we present the non-communicative reality. I believe it is formed naturally, just like a pair of lovers, they fall in love with each other, date and communicate; all takes place naturally. The exhibition will be held in Hexiangning Art Museum, Hongkong Art Centre and Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts in turn. However, the exhibition is just a part of the project. In addition, we host such a gathering half a year ahead of the exhibition in the hope of making the communication a part of the exhibition. The presenting way of this exhibition is going to be different with previous exhibitions. In other word, I believe I intend to show audiences some information, which is the basis and of equal importance with the exhibition.

其次，怎么速配？比如说现在网络化时代的快餐形式，在电视中有很多，大陆有一个流行节目《非诚勿扰》，就是进行爱情速配，我想在台湾、香港可能都有类似的节目。
Next point, how to make the speed matching? For example, there is lots of fast-food program in such an internet era, like a popular mainland TV program If You Are the One, making speed match among boys and girl. I guess there is also similar program in Taiwan and Hongkong.

下一步先配对，然后再交流，之后再合作。我们开始想得比较简单，抓阄，后来觉得不行，希望是跨地域的，台湾的艺术家和大陆、香港、澳门的进行配对，我们还是希望通过今天从见面到相识，能不能先自己先找、先配对？能配成最好，配不成到时候我们就强行配、拉郎配了。下面艺术家介绍自己作品的时候，请大家留意一下，看作品和感觉是不是适合自己、是不是投缘，别看这人就烦。这个展览有一点实验性和可能性，也会生发出一些其他的问题，作为策展人来说，我们也希望以不同的方式做不同的展览，这方面希望大家能够留意。有合适的赶快联系，不然被别人抢先一步了。
Firstly make the matches, then communicate with each other and develop the cooperation. At the beginning we wanted to make it simple by taking lots, which was denied later. The matches are expected to involve people from different areas and we hope you can take the initiative in finding your partners in the first place during this first meeting. It would be great if you find your counterparts, or we will arrange the match. In the following session when artists introduce their works, please keep your eye open to make sure if it suits or please you. The connection can hardly be built if you feel sick at the sight of someone’s work. This exhibition is experimental to a certain degree with potentials, and also may give rise to other issues. As curators, we hope to make different exhibition through different approaches. We remind you of paying attention to the one who suits you and make the match, otherwise, others would take an earlier step.
