911与我

今年是美国纽约911事件发生十周年，十年前事件发生前的十二天，刚好初次踏足纽约并登上了纽约当年的地标—世贸双子塔大楼，刚回到澳门，时差还未调整过来，便从电视机目睹震撼全球的911事件。十年匆匆过去，当年双子塔倒塌的一幕仍沥沥在目，为了表示对事件的纪念，以及对死难者的哀悼，十年前便创作与构思了多组与911有关的作品，希望有一天能与透过展览与大家分享自己过去十年来种种挥之不去的回忆。

在过去十年裡，在种种原因下都未能成功举办展览，几经波折下展览最终於本年9月11日晚上8时46分至11时於澳门全艺社的天台举行，而那一夜，感觉相当奇妙…

911 and Me

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the 911 attack on New York City. Twelve days prior to the attack ten years ago, local Macao artist James Chu stepped onto the ground of New York City for the first time and climbed up the city’s landmark twin towers of the World Trade Centre. Upon returning to Macao, while still suffering jetlag, he witnessed the 911 attack – one that shook the whole world – on TV. The swift passing of ten years has not washed away the haunting scene of the collapse of the twin towers. To commemorate the attack and to pay homage to the dead, Chu has created several sets of works associated with the 911 attack, hoping that one day he may share this haunting memory of the past ten years with others through an exhibition of his work.

Over the past ten years, for various kinds of reasons, the exhibition of Chu’s works have not been successful. After several twists and turns, the exhibition was finally showcased on 11th September 2011 from 8:46pm to 11:00pm on the rooftop gallery of AFA.
